Programming & Technical Experience
Dan Pernokis has been a systems & applications programmer, systems analyst, network administrator,
software instructor, and customer support representative. His experience covers systems integration,
data conversion, data warehousing, archiving, confidence testing, systems testing, quality assurance, software evaluations,
cost-benefit analysis, business analysis, assembler subroutine programming, hardware and software installation & configuration,
and general trouble-shooting.
Dan and his wife Gina own P & M Technologies,
a science and information technology company, and
Candlenut Books,
their small self-publishing operation.

Technical Expertise
Dan has written several system manuals and user guides, and he co-authored the
ANSI computer language standard for PL/B (Databus).
His expertise includes on-line banking, telephone systems,
point-of-sale transacting, reservations, hospitality & property management,
forest inventory, accounting & general ledger, payroll, and HR/HRIS.
Dan also has experience with robotics, GPS/GIS, image processing, multimedia authoring, media conversion
& transfers, and database conversion work. (He just loves to tinker!) In addition, he has eight
years' experience in professional broadcasting in Toronto and he has done some audio-visual production work.
Dan is presently involved in digital & stock photography, self-publishing, and on-going project & web site work.
He devotes some of his spare time to the teams that develop Firefox and Thunderbird software, and
he helps to administer judging at our local Rotary Science Fair. Recently, he helped to edit and proofread a
retrospective review paper for a major science journal.
